NENAproductions Theater Project, Ocean Grove’s resident theater company opens it’s 2018 season with the Off Broadway musical, A NEW BRAIN, with music and lyrics by William Finn, book by William Finn and James Lapine. The show has a limited run at The Starving Artist at Days Restaurant in Ocean Grove, Thursday through Saturday, March 1 to 3 with a 7:30 curtain.

In the throes of writer's block for an irritating children's TV show, composer Gordon Schwinn experiences a sudden life-threatening brain disorder which engulfs him and those he loves in a tumultuous, surreal and very funny ordeal. Based on an incident in his own life, William Finn (Falsettos and The 25th Annual County Spelling Bee) explores what is truly important in life and love. Despite its content, A NEW BRAIN is delightful musical comedy with a catchy score and hope filled message.

NENA Artistic director Nick Montesano directs and choreographs with musical direction by Jeff Brown. The creative team includes Stage Manager Allison Walter and Technical Director Arnold Teixeira.

The cast is comprised of NENA veteran Ray Dademo as Gordon, the character inspired by composer William Finn's actual experience. Also returning to the NENA stage are Sean Dickinson, Amanda Munice, Emily Monus, Jennifer Nelson, Matthew Yee, Frank Falisi, Tara Beams, and making their NENA debuts, TJ Bodnar and Brett Colby.

Seating for A NEW BRAIN is extremely limited with tickets available by calling 732-988-1007.

NENAproductions Theater Project will continue its 2018 season with the beloved family musical, THE SECRET GARDEN, to be produced in the fall. For more information visit  www.nenaproductions.org.
